Sorab Mistry named EFFIEs Chairman

Singapore - CEO of McCann-Erickson Singapore Sorab Mistry has been appointed as Chairman of the EFFIE Singapore Awards 2006 by the Institute of Advertising Singapore (IAS). “Sorab’s wealth of experience in establishing the EFFIE India programme and assisting with the pro bono television campaign for the EFFIE Singapore Awards in 2003 makes him an ideal successor to the Founding Chairman of the Singapore Awards, DDB’s David Tang,” said Patrick Mowe, Honorary Executive Director, IAS. Mistry also chairs the IAA Singapore Chapter, representing it on the IAA World Board and succeeding Patrick Mowe who had held the appointment since its inception in 2001. Outgoing Chairman of the Singapore EFFIEs Tang was instrumental in sustaining support for the ‘Movement Towards Effective Advertising’, an initiative lauded by the Minister for National Development and Distinguished Fellow of the IAS Mah Bow Tan.
