Global - Business news channel CNBC has appointed Charles Lei as Senior Vice President for Greater China, responsible for strategic planning, revenue generation, business development and building and managing relationships with the relevant Chinese government agencies, local partners and advertisers. Lei’s role will also require him to oversee CNBC’s business development initiatives in Taiwan.  According to Alexander Brown, President and CEO for CNBC Asia Pacific, Lei brings with him an impressive track record and is also “well-known in China’s television industry”. “CNBC has been most successful in translating its content to the needs of local viewers in China, and we look forward to strengthening our growth in this very important market under Charles' leadership," Brown added.  Prior to his appointment, Lei spent almost a decade at Walt Disney Company rising to the rank of General Manager at Walt Disney Television International in Beijing, for the company’s China operations. Before that, he ran his own Los Angeles-based IT consultancy practice specialising in the entertainment industry.
