Singapore - Nielsen//NetRatings has launched its online advertising tracking system, AdRelevance in Singapore - the service is already available in the US, Australia, Japan, China, and most recently Hong Kong, as well as 14 European markets.

AdRelevance works by providing information on who is advertising online, which sites campaigns are running on, duration and frequency of campaigns, creative content and ad types, and online display ad impressions and expenditure estimations. Using spider technology, the news means over sixty leading Singaporean websites are now being tracked.

The first AdRelevance findings for Singapore in May 2007 show that 328 online display campaigns, consisting of 576 banners, were run by 203 advertisers. - the results also show that Samsung showed the highest display ad activity online with 12 campaigns consisting of 20 banners, followed by HSBC and eBay, which both had 8 online campaigns comprising 31 and 21 banners respectively.

In terms of campaign placements, the findings put Hardwarezone ahead of the pack, garnering 44 campaigns placements on the site, by 33 advertisers and 51 banners for the month of May. Asiaone's home was a close second, having had 43 campaigns placed by 33 advertisers with 85 banners for the same period.

"It provides online players in and outside Singapore with the information needed to plan and evaluate their online ad sales and investments, and we are truly convinced, based on previous results worldwide, that its unique online ad buying and planning intelligence will support important progress and growth for Singapore's online industry," Forrest Didier, MD of Asia Pacific and Latin America for Nielsen//Netratings said.

"We work closely with Singapore's online publishers in order to secure their continued and collective support for Market Intelligence, so we can provide all industry players with the most accurate, complete and comprehensive insights on online advertising activity and expenditure through our AdRelevance service," he said.
