Asia - Christie's International has named Levina Li to the post of VP, director of business development for Asia - Li was previously partnership and alliances director, Asia Pacific at the Financial Times (FT).

Li's appointment comes on the back of Christie's recent hire of Su-Mei Thompson, who was also a senior executive at the FT. As reported in Marketing's 24 April bulletin FT's Thomson signs off, Thompson, who was FT's managing director of Asia Pacific, officially joins the art auction company this month where she assumes the role of senior VP, director of strategic business development, Asia.

Li will oversee business development activities for the region including identifying and developing new relationships, partnerships and alliances and private client development strategies for the art auction business in the region. She will be based in Hong Kong and reports to Thompson.

"With a decade of experience in strategic business development, marketing and brand management, as well as direct sales in the media and luxury goods sectors in Asia, Levina's knowledge of the market and her existing relationships with tastemakers and thought leaders will serve us and our clients well," Thompson said.

Prior to the FT, Li was marketing and communications director, Asia Pacific at Lanvin. She has also served as a director and VP at Turner Entertainment Networks and as Asia regional director for Elite Model Management.
