Singapore - Furniture and IT store Courts launched an online campaign by slashing prices on appliances through a "reverse auction" .
Fifteen of its best-sellers were featured on the auction site, with prices being dropped every second over 15 days.
The aim was to drive up traffic without incurring increased advertising costs.
Online banners, EDMs and social media were also launched as part of the campaign as it progressed.
According to Courts, this resulted in a steady stream of consumers coming back to the site, with the campaign wrapping up with six times more users coming to the site. Monthly sales hit a record high.
