Hong Kong - PCCW now TV has bolted on crime and history on to its roster with the announcement today it will run content from the The History Channel and Crime & Investigation Network through a joint venture between A&E Television Networks and ASTRO All Asia Networks plc.
"Our launch in Hong Kong is an important step for The History Channel and Crime & Investigation Network, and we are very pleased to announce our partnership with PCCW Now TV. Hong Kong has a deep history and appreciation for documentary and educational programming so we are confident the channels will be very successful in the market," Sean Cohan, senior vice president, International for A&E Television Networks said.
"With the inclusion of The History Channel and Crime & Investigation Network, customers will be able to travel back through time to learn more about history's important milestones - and for the first time, will be able to get to grips with the nitty-gritty behind some fascinating, real crime stories. The addition of these two channels to the now TV line-up is further proof of our commitment to source quality programming from around to satisfy the tastes of all our customers," Janice Lee, executive vice president, TV marketing and content development for PCCW said.
The History Channel and Crime & Investigation Network will also launch today on Astro in Malaysia and Brunei, on StarHub in Singapore and The History Channel on TrueVision in Thailand. The programs will be available in Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Indonesia and Thai languages.
First launched in January 1995 in the United States, the History Channel is now available in over 130 countries featuring historical programming, informative and entertaining series, specials and documentaries while the Crime & Investigation Network provides a behind-the-scenes look at criminal investigations where viewers get to witness how law enforcement agencies utilize the latest forensic investigation tools to solve cases executed by infamous murderers and villains.
