- MTV Networks China has partnered with Motorola to launch a "Back to True Music" themed MTV-MOTO ROKR concert aimed at reviving rock music in China through a series of live concerts in Qingdao, Hangzhou and Chengdu on 22, 23 and 24 June this year.
The concerts will feature Taiwan's 'king of pop' Jay Chou and the father of Chinese rock & roll Cui Jian together with other local talents such as Zheng Jun, Yang Kun, Lao Lang and Wang Feng.
"MOTOROKR - the combination of "MOTO" and "Rock & Roll" - represents Motorola's commitment to further strengthening its leadership in the Chinese music market and its excellence in mobile entertainment as a whole. We are excited to be partnering with another leader in music, MTV to bring these concerts to fans around Greater China," Ian Chapman-Banks, vice-president of marketing for Motorola Asia Pacific said.
Li Yifei, executive vice president and MD, MTV Networks China said: "MTV is very excited to kick off the "Back to True Music" campaign with Motorola, a leader in global communications. I hope the MTV-MOTO ROKR concert weekend will bring great joy and fun to the 100,000 strong live audience in China".
MTV Networks China and Zhejiang TV will jointly produce one of the three concerts to premier on MTV China's 24 hour channel on Zhejiang TV. The program will be syndicated throughout July and estimated to reach 383.8 million households across the nation.
