Hong Kong -  TBWA Worldwide has strengthened its presence in Greater China with the promotion of Ian Thubron (pictured) to group president in charge of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Keith Smith, president International for TBWA Group, said this is a clear indication of the agency's commitment and resources to China.

He said the new appointment will bring its creative, planning and fast growing digital practice under one roof.

"Ian is perfectly placed to take on this role, having worked in China before, overseeing a number of our key China clients and running the Hong Kong office," he added.

Thubron was previously the executive vice president for TBWA Asia Pacific and CEO for TBWA Hong Kong.

In his new role as group president, Greater China, he will oversee its 500 staff based in the region and senior management in all of the offices will report to him.

This include local managing directors Ruth Ang in Shanghai and Joanne Lao in Hong Kong.

TBWA's key clients include adidas, Apple, Mars, Nissan, Nivea, Pepsi and Pernod Ricard.
