TBWA  DEPARTURE    AGENCIES

Beijing - TBWA's China CEO, Donald Chan is departing the agency and it is understood that his decision to leave was "completely amicable".

Keith Smith (pictured), president, International for TBWA, said "This was a completely amicable decision".

He said Chan has led the agency with strong new business momentum into 2010 and established a very committed management team that are committed to the growth of the agency in China.

"And we understand his wish now to pursue his career in a different direction," Smith said.

He declined to comment further and said Chan's departure date and his successor as CEO will be announced later.

In early 2009, Chan was appointed CEO for TBWA\Group to replace Gavin Heron who relocated to South Africa to head up TBWA\Johannesburg.

Chan spent most of his career working at Leo Burnett Hong Kong and Shanghai where he rose to MD. He joined TBWA\China from Shanghai based In-Game Media where he held the post of CEO.
