Hong Kong - INQ Mobile has nabbed the head of Sony Ericsson China, Kinson Loo, as president for Greater China region.

Loo will be based in INQ's new office in Beijing where he will be charged to spearhead the company's push into Greater China namely Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.

Frank Meehan, CEO and founder for INQ Mobile, said the INQ team is dedicated to vastly improve the mobile Internet experience for everyone.

"Kinson will be building a world class team in China to support our business there and in the rest of the world," he added.

Part of Hutchinson Whampoa, INQ produces mass market mobile phones with high Internet functionality aimed at making social networking as easy as calling and texting.

"Being part of INQ is being part of one of those very few opportunities to join a new company that is leading a reshaping of an industry, and China will clearly be at the forefront of that change in the next decade," Loo said.

Prior to INQ, Loo was corporate vice president and head of region for Sony Ericsson responsible for driving its business in China.
