Hong Kong - Air New Zealand is continuing to push its social media strategy, launching a Facebook campaign which asks its fans to celebrate the festive season the Kiwi way.

The campaign called "Celebrating Kristmas in the Kiwi way" encourages its Facebook fans in Hong Kong to use their creativity and imagination by sending photographs of how they would celebrate Christmas in summer time as if they were in New Zealand.

Those who submitted their "hot Christmas" photographs would need to get as many friends as possible to "like" their posts and the winner with the most thumbs up get a chance to win a Canon S90 camera.

Targeting local Facebook users with a core audience comprising 25 to 38-year-old professionals, the campaign aims to build a larger fan base so that the database could be used to disseminate tactical and promotional messages in future.

The campaign is developed by Agenda Hong Kong, which has just started and will run to the end of the year.

Since the launch of Air New Zealand's Facebook Fan Page in August this year, its fan base has grown to close to 2400.

Tactical promotions have been ongoing on its fan page, from giving 5% exclusive discounts to those who joined for the firs time to other activities such as "Party on the Plane" where selected fans get to experience its business class services on Air New Zealand.
