Lotus F1 readies for race day
- Lotus F1 Racing names Mia Sharizman head of operations Asia
- Role includes promoting alliances with motorsports bodies in the region
- Effective 2010 ahead of teams participation in next year's F1
Malaysia - The Malaysian backed Lotus F1 Racing has named Mia Sharizman Ismail as its head of operations in Asia which include promoting and nurturing alliances with motorsports bodies in the region.
The appointment is effective next year and ahead of the brands participation in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship in 2010.
He is currently CEO of the Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM).
"I look forward to contributing to the team’s growth and achieving its targets. I share the enthusiasm and optimism of the team to see the Lotus F1 cars on the grid in Bahrain in March 2010," he said.
In other news, Lotus F1 Racing have also appointed former Malaysian F1 driver Alex Yoong as head of driver development Asia.
Yoong will co-head Lotus F1 Racing’s driver development programme alongside Nino Judge, the head of driver development (Europe).
Lotus F1 Racing is supported by the Malaysian Government and its 1Malaysia initiative.
