Malaysia - BBDO/Proximity Malaysia has made a slew of new appointments to boost the agency's offering ahead of 2010 including hiring VJ Anand as creative group head.

He will work closely with executive creative director Mun Tuck Wai.

Prior to his appointment at BBDO/Proximity, Anand has had stints at IDM/Cellnetwork, XM and Ogilvy.

He also spent more than year at Riverorchid Bangkok.

On a seperate note, the agency has promoted Michelle Achuthan to take on an expanded role as GM of both BBDO and Proximity.

While Proximity Malaysia has made new appointments to its team including Karen Koay as account director, Syamsiah Yassin as project manager, Karen Wong as senior technology manager, Lay Jian Yi as art director, and Stephanie Yep and Imiriah Othman as senior account managers.

Proximity business director, Janet Teo has left the agency.
