Carlsberg turns to Facebook for Xmas

Malaysia - Carlsberg has launched a Christmas application on Facebook called the Carlsberg Christmas Tree.
This application lets Facebook users create their own Carlsberg Christmas Tree, decorating the tree with friend's tags. The more friends tagged means more trinkets on the tree which will in turn increase a person's chances of winning the contest.
The winner of the contest will get a private party hosted by the beer brand which will manage all entertainment, festivities and beverage arrangements.
The bash will be at the Carlsberg Lounge, located at the its brewery itself, with FHM Magazine's Girl Next Door 2010 top-12 finalists in attendance.
"The Carlsberg Christmas Tree application will tap into a savvy online generation. We hope that our campaign will drive more fans of Carlsberg as Facebook has presented itself as an excellent platform to create significant brand awareness, with major impact," Ole Nielsen, GM of marketing for Carlsberg told A+M.
