Catchon walks off with Sanderson's flagship
CATCHON FASHION PUBLIC RELATIONS
Hong Kong - British shoe designer Rupert Sanderson has hired CatchOn to handle local and regional PR for his Asian flagship store set to open in March 2010.
CatchOn has won the business following a two way pitch as Sanderson expands into Asia.
The former adman quit his "disastrous career in advertising in 1997" and enrolled at the Cordwainers College in East London to learn how to make shoes, joining the likes of famous shoemakers such as Jimmy Choo.
While his shoes are currently available in Lane Crawford, an international flagship will open in Central next March featuring his women's footwear collection.
Sanderson (pictured) said whenever he's been to Hong Kong he's always been struck by how gracefully and considered the women dress.
He said there is a sort of old fashioned respect for the formalities of things; it's not entirely about the breathless acquisition of the latest fad.
"It reminds me a little bit of how Parisian women dress: super chic and highly considered - our model customer," he added.
Sanderson's customers include A-list Hollywood stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Sienna Miller and Frieda Pinto.
