CNET.com provides its visitors with access to a cornucopia of content ranging from product reviews and how-to guides to events coverage, readers' choice, most-popular charts and downloads. On the advertising front, CNET Networks has a reach of over 115 million unique users monthly. Closer to home, CNET Asia boasts a community of 92,000 members who contribute in the form of questions, user ratings and opinions, forum discussions and tips. It also draws 6.6 million page views and 850,000 unique visitors monthly, providing advertisers of technology related products with a fertile ground to work from.

Statistics for CNET.com as an IT news site yielded similar findings to Search: respondents from companies of foreign origin were more in favour of the website than respondents from companies of local origin (59 votes for the former against 51 votes from the latter). Interestingly, respondents from companies of local origin were more supportive of its competitor, Hardwarezone.com than of CNET.com.

By gender divide, CNET.com also appeared to garner more support from female respondents (35 votes from males against 41 votes from females) as compared to Hardwarezone.com, which pulled in more votes from male respondents (43 votes from males against 37 votes from females).

Looking at the statistics in the industry group category, CNET.com seemed more popular with the creative people at advertising agencies and consultants at public relations agencies and slightly less popular with media buying agencies who gave it 33, 17 and 12 votes respectively. In contrast, its competitor, Hardwarezone.com was more popular with creative advertising agencies media buying agencies than public relations agencies which garnered 37, 20 and 13 votes respectively.

Last but not least, CNET.com was noticeably more popular with the IT and telecommunications sector while Hardwarezone.com was more popular with consumer product sector - hinting that each website might have its own set of following after all, despite similar offerings.
