ZUJI   TRAVELOCITY   DEPARTURES

Hong Kong - Sean Seah (pictured), general manager for Zuji, a unit of Travelocity Asia Pacific, has left the company with his role succeeded by the internal promotion of Charlie Wong.

Seah joined Zuji since 2003 and has been with the company for the past six years.

In the midst of an economic downturn last year, Seah made a bold move to revive the travel sector by doubling its marketing investment to launch Zuji 2.0, a new version of a one-stop online travel shop that allows travelers to personalise their packages.

In February this year, the self-confessed guru of online travel took to the streets of Hong Kong pushing a trolley cart to hand out packets of TripSaver-branded sweets to potential travellers as part of its guerrilla marketing campaign.

This April, Zuji also rolled out an aggressive social media campaign by issuing ticket prices based on a stock market-style basis driven via Twitter, Facebook and Alivenotdead.

Prior to Zuji, Seah was marketing consultant at Bonds In Asia E-Bond trading company. Before that, he held roles as e-commerce manager for Air New Zealand and marketing analyst for Toyota.

Seah is unavailable for comment at press time but is understood to take on a new role in the hospitality sector.

Zuji said it will issue a formal release soon.
