CASBAA launches CSR initiative
Hong Kong - Todd Miller (pictured), Sony Pictures' Asia-Pacific executive vice president of networks, will oversee a corporate social responsibility program for the regions pay TV operators.
The CASBAA Cares program was announced by the Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia chairman Marcel Fenez in Hong Kong today.
He said the initiative will see the pay TV industry react and respond to emergencies around the region and support initiatives like the global climate change summit in Copenhagen.
Throughout this year's conference, the pay TV group will announce initiatives to support Variety the Children’s Charity and a non-profit Indian charity Dream School Foundation.
The CASBAA CRS Committee is also looking to establish longer-term CSR projects that industry members can support.
This year's CASBAA Charity Ball will raise money for the Dream School Foundation.
