New online ad idea catching on?
- New online ad platform called Catcheye
- 3000 members and one client signed up in two weeks
- Says it can guarantee brands its ads will be viewed by unique and voluntary viewers
- Launches next month, plans to expand into Singapore
Malaysia - A new online advertising platform promising to deliver an attentive audience to advertisers has already seen 3000 members sign up since it began recruiting two weeks ago.
The platform is called Catcheye, and it boldly says it is an advertisement delivery platform which guarantees each ad is viewed by unique and voluntary viewers. The viewers are actually Catcheye members who have signed up to the platform for free in the hope of earning cash.
Catcheye members earn reward points for successfully referring the service to another person but also earn when other members in their network view advertisements.
As viewers, the members have to answer questions about the ad before the company rewards them with cash or prizes. Members can only cash out once they generate RM50 worth of points.
To live up to its attentive audience guarantee, brands who use this service formulate the questions to ask based on the ads, decide how many unique users should view the ads, and can also specify target audience by demographic segmentation.
Catcheye will then serve the ads to the target audience based on client preferences.
The platform has been generating buzz across Malaysia over the last weeks with several media agencies already contacting the company for information.
Tommy Ooi is leading the operation here but he plans to expand the idea to Singapore in six months time. Catcheye Malaysia officially launches next month with Denson Marketing confirmed as its first client.
Advertising charges vary depending on formats but Ooi declined to go into specifics adding that "below 30 cents per view" was all he could say.
The company makes money from advertising revenue.
An official contest launch for members begins 25 October and a total reward figure at the top right hand corner of its website reads RM3,249.20 at press time.
Ooi said 10,000 members would be an ideal figure for Catcheye Malaysia to operate with and he expects to achieve this growth by 2010.
