Hong Kong - Hong Kong based publishing company Harrex Media has embarked on a soft launch of ReviewAsia, a general interest magazine for Asia Pacific's growing affluent demographic.

The monthly magazine will feature content covering politics, business, arts, culture, design and technology to environmental and social issues from an Asian perspective. The title will be helmed by Rex Aguado who wears both editor and publisher caps.

"The new generation of confident professionals, whether they're located in Seoul, Singapore, Manila or Bangkok, have a different interpretation of Asian values than their parents did. ReviewAsia has been conceived with those people in mind, both to inform them on issues that concern them and their peers, and to let the outside world in on their thinking," Harry O'Neill, chairman of Harrex Media said.

ReviewAsia is based on a subscription and display ad revenue model and Harrex Media is also launching with a CSR policy in place which sees the title contribute 10 per cent of annual subscription revenue to a childen's charity. The magazine is available at bookshops, country and city clubs, as well as hotels and airlines across Hong Kong.

ReviewAsia will be gradually rolled out across the region, with an aim of reaching the Americas and Europe by next year. The publication plans to be audited eventually.

"We are still in the process of setting up our distribution system and buttressing our subscription base, not just in Hong Kong but also abroad, from North Asia to South and Southeast Asia. Once we have reached our target of being distributed in the US and European markets, we will definitely be already audited by then", Aguado said.

Issue one looks at the "New Asians" and how the burgeoning buying power of the region's more than 2 billion consumers is reshaping the world and also profiles Malaysia's Marina Mahathir as well as Indian-born billionaire Lakshmi Mittal.
