8TV goes mobile, more to follow

Malaysia - Alt Media, a Media Prima company, has launched 8TV Mobile which streams full episodes of selected programmes from the channel direct to mobile phones via mobile.8tv.com.my.
The company announced the launch yesterday, calling it a first of its kind in Malaysia and SE Asia.
"Being a progressive TV network, we are very excited about 8TV going mobile as it is an innovative and revolutionary move. We have always believed in being the first in exploring new ideas and this is something that is key to our target audience," Lam Swee Kim, GM of 8TV, said.
Programmes at launch date include Blogger Boy, Project NS, 8TV Quickie, 8TV Mandarin News and I Wanna Be A Model 3. Shows will be available on 8TV Mobile six hours after airing on TV.
Similar services for TV3, NTV7 and TV9 are expected to roll out over the next two months while lifestyle portal, GUA will also launch GUA Mobile within the same period.
