Blue dominates Agency of the Year awards

Singapore - Digital agency Blue has sweeped Marketing Magazine's 2009 Agency of the Year Awards, taking home the overall Agency of the Year award and four other awards.

Blue was crowned as Singapore's top agency last night at a gala event held at the Ritz-Carlton. Blue beat strong challenges from Ogilvy & Mather and XM Asia, winning gold in the categories of Email Marketing Agency and Search Marketing Agency, silver in Online Advertising Agency and a bronze in Web Design Agency.

One of the new categories, Agency Professional of the Year, went to DDB Group Singapore CEO and president David Tang, while MindShare topped the Media Agency of the Year category for another year. Ogilvy & Mather again won Creative Agency of the Year and Tequila won Direct Marketing Agency of the Year.

Locally owned public relations firm Fulford PR won Public Relations Agency of the Year, while XM Asia won the Web Design Agency of the Year and Online Advertising Agency of the Year categories, as well as a silver in Email Markeitng Agency of the Year. Up and coming digital agency, Interuptive Communications, was given The Next Big Thing award, which recognises a new agency with high potential.

Interbrand took home the Brand Consultancy of the Year award, while Nielsen won the Market Research category and The Shooting Gallery Asia claimed Production Agency of the Year. Sports Marketing Agency of the Year went to IMG and the Event Marketing gong was won by The Event Company Staging Connections.

More than 700 industry players attended the event where 52 trophies were handed out across 16 categories. The Awards were strictly decided through extensive polling of marketers in Singapore.
