Global - The Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival has named Honda as the winner of this year's Advertiser of the Year award.
The award, which recognises creative and innovative advertising and product marketing by advertisers who encourage creative work produced by agencies, will be presented to Ken Keir, senior VP of Honda Motor Europe.
"The essence of Cannes is about great creative work and Honda has made an effort to market their brand with imaginative, original and cutting-edge advertising," Phil Thomas, Festival CEO said.
"Through our agencies and a marketing team we changed our advertising direction five years ago. Our success has been the result of a consistent, honest approach projecting our philosophy and values in a style which has changed Honda awareness," Keir said.
Past Honda ads include ‘Cog' which won a Gold Lion in 2003, 2005 Film Grand Prix and Titanium Lion winner ‘Grrr', and ‘Choir' and ‘Impossible Dream' which scooped Gold Lions in 2006.
