Starhub's Clontz resigns, Montefiore named new CEO
- Terry Clontz retires
- Replaced by M1's Neil Montefiore
- To continue as director
Singapore - StarHub CEO Terry Clontz has announced his decision to retire in January 2010 with the former head of a local telco rival, Neil Montefiore, to replace him.
Clontz will however, continue as a director with the group, a statement from StarHub said. The reasons for Clontz's decision is said to be personal.
Clontz joined StarHub in January 1999 as its founding president and CEO.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity of working with the StarHub team and living in Singapore for more than 10 years. Info-communications is an exciting industry, so I intend to remain somewhat active in the industry; but I look forward to spending more time with my family," Clontz said.
Montefiore brings with him over 33 years of experience in the telecommunication industry. He was the CEO and a board director of M1 in Singapore from 1996 until this year. In February Montefiore stepped down from the top job at M1.
Prior to that he was the director, Mobile Services at Hong Kong Telecom CSL Limited, the largest cellular operator in Hong Kong.
