Air France-KLM sees cargo stabilising
Global - Air France-KLM said on Tuesday its cargo traffic fell slower by 0.4% in June, confirming that the decline in cargo traffic is showing signs of stabilising since the turn of the financial year.
According to Air France-KLM, the latest cargo traffic, measured in revenue ton kilometres was in line with the 0.1% capacity reduction, leading to a stable load factor of 65.3%.
The 0.4% decline in traffic volume was an improvement from the 1% year-on-year decline recorded in May.
Excluding Martinair which consolidated with Air France-KLM on 1 January this year, traffic and capacity fell 17.2% and 15.4% respectively, leading to a 1.4 point decline in load factor to 64.1%, said Air France in a statement.
"These figures confirm again the trend towards a stabilisation of the cargo activity, with a progressive adjustment of capacity to demand," Air France said.
