Australia - Yahoo!7, a partnership with Australian broadcaster Seven Network and Yahoo, has expanded its relationship with Nielsen Online, subscribing to its Market Intelligence service.
Launching with the Yahoo!7 FrontPage and rolling out across other Yahoo!7 properties in following months, the services will provide media buyers with an increased visibility of Yahoo!7’s audience.
“This is a pivotal decision by Yahoo!7 in that it means all of Australia’s major publishers are now taking part in Nielsen Online’s service, and media buyers will have one consistent online measurement platform,” states Megan Clarken, Managing Director – Pacific, Nielsen Online.
Nielsen Online is the only Australian online measurement company currently being accredited by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) for an industry measurement process.
Yahoo!7’s homepage debuted at number two in the Market Intelligence rankings behind ninemsn and ahead of BigPond, SMH and News.com.au homepages.
“We know that in these tough economic times marketers need all the help they can get to demonstrate that their advertising investments are reaching the audiences that matter most to them. In subscribing to Nielsen Online’s Market Intelligence service we are allowing our clients an apples to apples comparison across the industry,” said Damon Scarr, National Media Sales Director, Yahoo!7.
Nielsen Online began monitoring and reporting on Yahoo!7’s FrontPage on 1 June, with average daily unique browser figures available for the first time from 2 June.
