AXA makes double Chan appointment

Hong Kong - AXA Asia Pacific Holdings has hired Paul Chan and Rebecca Chan as its new regional chief operating officer and regional director of marketing and customer strategy, respectively.

As COO, Chan aim to expand AXA Asia Life's business across the region as well as assuming overall leadership and management of the company's regional IT, business change and operations standards. Chan joins from Winterthur Life Hong Kong where he was MD.

In her role as regional director of marketing and customer strategy, Chan will lead the company's marketing and customer strategies in the region and will be based in Hong Kong. She joined from ABN AMRO Bank after heading its Consumer Finance business and was responsible for managing product and marketing activities including branding, advertising, acquisition, portfolio management and public relations activities; as well as managing the sales teams and customer service functions

"The addition of Paul and Rebecca to the team is timely given the growth and expansion opportunities in the region. Paul's proven track record in managing Winterthur Hong Kong - which we are now integrating, and Rebecca's strength in marketing and customer service programs, will provide significant value to our life insurance and wealth management business and customers. The appointments will contribute to achieving our vision of doubling our Asia enterprise value by 2008 and reinforce our focus on delivering first-class customer service to become the customer preferred company by 2012," Mark Pearson, regional chief executive for AXA Asia Life said in a statement.
