Singapore -  PR agency Rice Communications has officially launched in Singapore with a client list including mobile satellite services giant Inmarsat, the Mobile Marketing Association and BoxSentry.

Headed by Sonya Madeira-Stamp, who has over 15 years of experience in the PR industry, Rice boasts of clientele most of which are regional in nature. Amongst local firms, the agency has been assigned PR duties for BoxSentry, an email security specialist.

Rice started operatins earlier this year but officially opened its doors last Friday night with a launch party at its Singapore office.

Madeira-Stamp in the past has worked with agencies such as Hill & Knowlton in Singapore, Genesis Burson-Marstellar and Text 100 in India. During her career she has worked for brands like Discovery Channel, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, Revlon, Microsoft and Oracle.

As managing partner for Rice, Maderia-Stamp will focus on building a reputation for the company through the client portfolio.

"We see ourselves as more of an extension of the clients' business than an external agency. We put in the time and energy required to learn about the client as we focus on starting the execution," she said.

Rice currently has 12 staff and this, Stamp said, will grow in times to come.
