OMD lands HKU media buying business
OMD CONTRACT ADVERTISING MEDIA
Hong Kong - HKU School of Professional & Continuing Education (SPACE), part of The University of Hong Kong, has hired OMD to provide communications and strategic media buying advice.
OMD will partner with Contract Advertising to provide creative development for this full service account win.
The agencies will work with HKU SPACE and HKU SPACE community college for two upcoming branding campaigns aimed at driving enrollment for the academic year of 2009 and 2010 targeted to roll out by this quarter.
Susanna Mok, director of Institutional Advancement for HKU SPACE, said OMD is its agency of choice because of its strategic thinking capability, in-depth consumer insights as well as creative, out-of-the-box thinking.
Jackson Kwok, managing director for OMD Hong Kong said HKU SPACE has appointed a 4A's agency for its upcoming campaigns as the educational institute wants to explore new dimensions in communications since it focused heavily in print advertising in the past.
He said OMD will drive a communication strategy that integrates both offline and online as the college wants to connect with youths fresh out of Form Five and Seven that mostly consume digital and mobile media.
Kwok said the agency will have to strike a balance in upholding the leadership image of HKU SPACE but at the same time connect and bring the brand closer to the hearts of its target consumers in an engaging way.
HKU SPACE aims to provide continuing education for personal, professional and career advancement to people from all walks of life. The community college is designed to provide meaningful sub-degree education for Secondary Five and Seven graduates.
