TVB.com makes surprise appearance

Hong Kong - To celebrate its first birthday, tvb.com has thrown a series of surprise parties to win the hearts (and wallets) of its key advertisers.

This is the second year the online portal has organised a secret party for more than 20 of its core clients and agency partners.

Artists like Joey Law and six cooking angels, who appear in one of TVB's highest rating programme Beautiful Cooking were also part of the surprise events.

"The objective of the surprise party was not only to announce the one-year-old birthday but also let clients know that tvb.com is now the leading entertainment portal," Catherine Lee, trade market manager at tvb.com, said.

"This is a very unique selling point that other media is incapable to do." 

With the credit crunch squeezing online ad spending, tvb.com has used the events to announce a series of integrated marketing solution for advertisers such as TV and  online packages, as well as its online, artiste and event offerings. 

Lee said advertisers including Ocean Park (pictured) and Citibank have used its integrated platform for brand building. 

With the increasing number of young viewers on tvb.com, the site is approaching younger-skewed brands such as Mioggi, Ocean Park, Disneyland and addidas for their marketing campaigns.
