Hong Kong - As the trend to consume content anytime, anywhere grows, MSN has partnered with TVB.com to launch an offering that allows users to integrate TVB programs into their messenger platforms.

The partnership for MSN to embed MyTV into its latest Windows Live Messenger 9.0 version is part of the web service's 10th year presence in the online world.

The new offering will allow users to communicate instantly and through a personalised interactive function watch MyTV programmes from five channels - variety, entertainment, food, music to travel all at the same time.

Leslie Chu, country manager of Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macau for Microsoft, Online Services Group, said MSN Hong Kong has devoted its efforts to the re-engineering of internet communications to create a more user-friendly service in the past 10 years.

He said today is one of the most important days in the history of MSN Hong Kong, as internet television and instant messaging merge to form MyTV X MSN.

"I trust this project will lead to further cooperation between media companies in order to keep providing a brand new user experience," he added.

The MyTV X MSN ceremony and MSN 10th Anniversary celebrations were held in LCX in Tsim Sha Tsui today. A themed glass house is also showcased in the LCX store in Ocean Terminal to give users a glimpse behind MSN's story.

TVB.com MyTV was introduced in November last year that contains over 1,200 hours of TVB content. MyTV gets over 7.5 million visitors browsing its portal since its launch.

This initiative is consumer driven and has not been optimised for advertisers yet but Rose Luk, digital strategy manager for Starcom IP said the partnership is a good indication that internet and digital media is now a mainstream media as one of the biggest media player has tapped onto the digital platform.

She said digital is getting more and more important and this is a sign to advertisers they'll be missing out if digital is still not part of the media plan.

An online campaign and a dedicated website to mark MSN's 10th Anniversary developed by Agenda will roll out later that include event marketing.

SPRG is the PR agency for MSN.
