Regional - Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division (EDD) has announced the appointments of two senior marketing managers in Southeast Asia.
Alan Chou has been appointed senior group marketing manager for EDD Southeast Asia, taking responsibility for the overall marketing of EDD businesses like Xbox 360, Microsoft Hardware and Office For Mac in the region. Chou joined EDD in 2007 as the regional marketing manager for Xbox 360 and among his achievements was Singapore's successful blockbuster gaming event X08 in September 2008 which saw over 400,000 visitors on the show floor.
Erik Ford has taken over Chou's previous portfolio as the senior regional marketing manager for Xbox 360 in Southeast Asia. He has been tasked with the sales and marketing of Xbox 360 consoles, games and accessories.
Ford has worked as a senior product manager in the APAC Xbox 360 team, managing third-party publisher relations as well as product marketing across five Asian countries. He was also previously the managing director of Eidos Interactive Australasia where he oversaw regional sales and marketing of gaming software franchises like Tomb Raider and Championship Manager on different gaming platforms.
"The current economic downturn has not deterred our continual investment to help realize the potential of Microsoft employees," Simon Tan, director of EDD Southeast Asia, said.
"Erik, a gaming industry veteran, will take the Xbox 360 business in Singapore to the next level while Alan will take the lead in spearheading our marketing efforts for our EDD businesses in SEA. We believe this change will help drive higher growth in this dynamic region for the long term."
