Skagen Designs hires first PR agency
Hong Kong - Editorial driven publicity continues to gain momentum with Danish design group Skagen Designs appointing Waggener Edstrom as its first PR agency.
Under the agreement, Skagen Designs will receive public relations counsel and integrated media intelligence services from WE for online and offline brand strategies in Hong Kong.
Skagen Designs was founded by Danish émigrés and is headquartered in North America.
Anita Jensen, Asia Pacific commercial director at Skagen Designs said PR was a new move for Skagen Designs in Hong Kong, adding that WE was selected for its mix of strong local media ties and global network.
"We look forward to tapping into Waggener Edstrom's strengths in both innovative storytelling and traditional and digital PR to tell our unique brand story in Hong Kong and beyond," she said in a statement.
David Ko, Asia Pacific executive vice president at WE, said the win broadens the agency's consumer portfolio across Asia which contains a mix consumer electronics, food & beverage and fashion and lifestyle brands.
"We are honored to be their exclusive public relations partner in Hong Kong as they place a greater emphasis on this market in 2009," he said.
