MediaCorp reshuffles senior line-up

Singapore - MediaCorp will next month make a string of senior management changes as it attempts to better expand its content business and international footprint.

The company's executive vice president of TV programming and production for Channel 5, Kenneth Liang, will assume the role of director international productions and will spearhead the new unit focusing on business opportunities in international television content. Lim Suat Jien will then take over Liang's previous responsiblities in her new EVP, Channel 5 and Okto position.

At the same time Ong Lay Hong, currently a senior vice president at Channel NewsAsia's China operations, will assume Lim's former duties as managing director, Suria and Vasantham. Doreen Neo, senior vice president of studios business distribution unit, will additionally helm a newly formed TV content distribution unit.

All these appointments report to Chang Long Jong, deputy CEO, Television. MediaCorp also announced that Debra Soon will be appointed as MD, Channel NewsAsia replacing Woon Tai Ho.

Florence Lian who currently handles communications and marketing activities will take on a new managing director Radio role. The current MD, Radio, Philip Koh will then assume an expanded MD, Press and Media Research Consultants role as well as strategic business development projects. These appointments report to Shaun Seow, deputy CEO of News, Radio and Print.

"We need to align our organization structure and leadership to our business strategies," MediaCorp CEO Lucas Chow, said.
