Shanghai - Jean Lin, the founder and CEO for wwwins Consulting, has been promoted to global chief strategy officer for Isobar and will continue to be based in Shanghai.

In her role, Lin will focus on Isobar's global web build discipline and the network's outsourcing capabilities as well as lead the global marketing initiatives for the agency.

She reports to Nigel Morris, CEO for Isobar Global.

Morris said the Greater China region is now more important for all global clients and added that the Asia region plays a much more central role in the development of Isobar.

"It is wise for us [to be] having a global role based in Asia," he said.

Morris added that the speed to market in China is rapid.

"Having Jean take up this new role and with her solid China experience will be a superb asset in helping our clients and Isobar to see new opportunities".

He observed that the trends in China are consistent with much of what we are seeing around the world, an increasing importance of digital with more and more tools and data driving effectiveness of performance media like search and greater innovation and creativity driving the branding potential in platform, video and applications.

Morris revealed that the key focus for the company in 2009 is being able to outsource to leverage their web build capability.

Lin founded wwwins in 1999 from a start up in Taipei that expanded to Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shanghai with a portfolio of clients such as Coca-Cola, HSBC, adidas and Nissan.

Lin's previous role will by filled by Deirdre McGlashan as CEO for wwins  Consulting Greater China.

McGlashan was part of the Isobar network for three years leading Isobar Global in London.

Before that, she worked for interactive agencies such as Agency.com in San Francisco and London, Red Sky Interactive in San Francisco and also for companies such as Apple and Macromedia in the Silicon Valley.
