Shanghai - Pixel Media has appointed Danny Tsang (pictured) as its first general manager for the Shanghai office and outlined aggressive plans to build its share of the Greater China market.
His appointment will cement Pixel Media's presence in the country to further develop its abundant growth opportunities and fast growing online ad activities.
Tsang will develop and implement Pixel's business strategy for Shanghai by seeking new business opportunities, putting best practices in place and educating the industry of online ad benefits as well as fostering closer working relationships with web partners.
He reports directly to Kevin Huang, CEO for Pixel Media.
"The appointment of Pixel Shanghai's first general manager is a strong and continued commitment of ours to the development of our China operations, the continued delivery of quality online media solutions to our advertisers, agencies and website partners and to the Chinese online market as a whole," Huang said.
He explained that the overall online ad market in China is estimated to be about US$2billion. He added it will help drive business forward by putting a key leader in the world's largest digital market.
Huang said, "Internet is mass media" in reaching consumers. He observed that more clients are shifting their ad budgets to online as it is a more accountable and cost effective media.
He hoped Pixel's strong presence in China will help shape up some best practices such as the lack of standard ad formats and coming up with consistent metrics for online ad tracking.
Danny Tsang, general manager for Pixel Shanghai said China now has the world's largest internet population with over 298 million active users and that number is growing rapidly with only a current 22.6% internet penetration according to the China Internet Network Information Centre, which presents many exciting opportunities for advertisers and publishers to market their products and services.
"I look forward to playing an active role in helping the advertising community as well as website publishers to deliver quality solutions to them by deploying proven solutions coupled with creative ideas and best practices," he added.
