Singapore - JWT copywriter Andrew McKechnie has been selected for ‘Clio Future Gold', an annual competition organised by Clio to identify creative heavyweights of the future.
According to a statement from Clio, submissions were divided into six regions (North America, Central and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the South Pacific), with Clio's panel of judges (comprising of Icaro Doria, Jonathan Kneebone, Jason Schragger and Mark Sikes) choosing a copywriter and art director from each region. McKechnie was judged to be the best of all the copywriters in the Asia division. As for art directors, Preeti Verma of Rediffusion DYR in Mumbai was chosen among his cohort.
"For the next stage Andrew will fly to Miami and compete with the creatives on a real brief for a real client -- this is as big as it can get for any young creative in advertising. It's proof that Singapore is home to some of the best talent in the world," Ali Shabaz, creative director at JWT said.
