Nielsen strengthens Bases to tap downturn
Hong Kong - The Nielsen Company has appointed Patricia Chiu (pictured) to a newly created position as vice president of its client consulting arm Bases Hong Kong.
In her new capacity, Chiu will be responsible for leading the Bases market and brand advisor service in the region where she will serve existing clients and seek new businesses targeting the FMCG industry.
She will report to Karthik Rao, managing director, Nielsen Bases, Asia, Pacific & India.
Chiu has more than a decade of experience in market research and was previously from IPSOS Novaction Consultants where she held a number of senior roles.
Agnes Hui, communications director for Nielsen Hong Kong, said Chiu's appointment is timely in this tough business environment as companies are more cautious when launching new products.
The business forecasting that Bases provide in terms of analysis and evaluations will help companies explore market potential and devise product plans.
