A very data new year from Maxis
Maxis Communications is offering mobile data promotions through free mobile games and lower International Direct Dialling (IDD) rates to customers.
Matthew Willsher, CMO, Maxis said customers are now more able to utilise mobile data services with mobiles with improved browsers and mobile screens, and also higher network speeds.
"Our customers will find it a breeze to play entertaining mobile games, call their loved ones who are out of the country at very affordable rates, update their social networking sites or get the latest news alerts while on the go," he added.
There has and will be no advertisements telling of the promotions but point-of-sale playes a bit role at Maxis centres and dealers outlets have been harnessed to help spread the word.
Facebook, Flickr, MySpace, Friendster and Maxis Wap portal visitors will also be able to browse about its mobile data services.
Its promoters will help cover the ground-work through distributing angpows (red packets) containing information on the free content and IDD rates and mandarin oranges at the Sungai Buloh, Southern Seremban and North Tapah rest areas, ensuring nationwide coverage.
The festive campaign for Maxis will run till end till mid-February and encompass caller ringtone downloads for over 500 Chinese New Year songs on its Maxis and Hotlink websites, Wap site whilst rewarding the 8,888th downloading customer to dinner vouchers, the 888th with a prepaid top-up and a Nokia Xpress Music 5320 mobile phone.
The telco will also be holding Chinese New Year open houses at 120 dealers in East Malaysia treating its customers to visits by the "God of Prosperity", complimentary refreshments, lucky draw picks from the "Tree of Prosperity" and Lion Dances.
