Singapore - Friendster's newly appointed exclusive online advertising and sponsorship sales partner in Singapore Pixel Media has won two new government accounts, with both the Infocomm Development Agency of Singapore (IDA) and Building & Construction Authority (BCA) agreeing to run campaigns on the social networking site.

The two agencies have committed to launching campaigns on Friendster, and will work closely with Pixel Media to promote their respective education and scholarship programs on Friendster's websites in Singapore.

"Both Friendster and Pixel Media recognize the potential in Friendster's status as Singapore's top social networking site, allowing advertisers to make use of this platform and to reach out to the youth and young professional segments," Winky Chan, Pixel Media managing director, said.

The latest partnership with Friendster in Singapore represents an expansion of the existing relationship between the site and Pixel Media, as both parties have been collaborating since 2005 in Hong Kong and Malaysia.

"Pixel Media's knowledge of the Singapore market will help us build highly compelling campaigns and solutions for advertisers looking to engage the Friendster community with their brand, product or service," Aaron Barnes, VP of global sales and business development for Friendster, said.

Previous Friendster campaigns through Pixel Media in Hong Kong and Malaysia include work from brands such as Nike, Adidas, Unilever, Maxis, DiGi, Celcom, Loreal, Clinique and Nokia.

Friendster is the number one social network in Asia with over 75 million registered users from the region, according to Google Analytics and Friendster Internal Data, November 2008.
