Singapore - Singapore Press Holdings' (SPH) Chinese media including Lianhe Wanbao, Radio 100.3, omy.sg and U-Weekly, have joined together to launch the Singapore Entertainment Awards, to recognise individuals who have made an impact on the island's entertainment scene in 2008.
The objective of the awards is to support the Chinese entertainment industry that popularises the use of the Chinese language both locally and overseas.

SPH has the resources to organise and support this major entertainment event with its combined strength in print, radio and online platforms," Robin Hu, senior executive vice president of Chinese Newspapers and Newspaper Services at SPH, said.
The awards is presented by Crocodile and sponsored by K Box, Marina Mandarin Hotel and Monsoon Group.
