Under one roof
Singapore - MediaCorp has consolidated its online and mobile properties under a single division called Interactive Media Division (IMD) which will run as a separate business from the current two television and news/radio/print business clusters.
MediaCorp's deputy CEO (News, Radio, Print) Shaun Seow will oversee this new division, in addition to his responsibilities at the news/radio/print cluster, and will be assisted by newly hired SVP, Steven Chan. Prior to joining MediaCorp, Chan was an executive director at Asia Mobility Initiative (AMI) Alliance.
According to a press statement, the IMD will sharpen MediaCorp's efforts in the new media space, spearheading and growing the new media businesses across the MediaCorp group.
In April last year, the latest annual Hitwise Online Performance Awards based on number of visits ranked three MediaCorp-branded websites as the most popular in their respective categories. Mediacorpradio.sg, Channelnewsasia.com, and Kidscentral.sg were winners in the 'Entertainment-Radio' industry, 'Entertainment-Television' industry, and the 'Lifestyle-Children Sites' industry categories respectively.
"I am very excited to join MediaCorp at a time where the online and mobile platforms are becoming increasingly important and integral to business strategies. I look forward to combining my telco/new media experience with the multi-media platforms of MediaCorp to create winning solutions for our customers, partners and stakeholders," Chan said.
