Men’s Health Malaysia gets new editor

Mongoose Publishing has appointed Eugene Phua as the new editor of Men's Health Malaysia .He has eight years experience in the local magazine scene working on titles such as KLue, FHM and FourFourTwo. Phua (pictured) was previously employed at Mongoose as managing editor for Esquire Malaysia until earlier this year. He has also contributed feature articles to Men's Health Malaysia as a freelancer.Men's Health is one of the most-read men's magazine in Malaysia. The magazine has 32,000 copies printed and distributed every month with over 46,000 likes for the Men's Health Facebook page and nearly 10,000 followers across Twitter and Instagram. The brand is published in Malaysia by Mongoose under licence from Rodale in the United States." Phua is one of the most respected, visionary editorial talents in Malaysia," said Mongoose editorial director, Lynette Ow."He was always our first choice to take over on Men's Health. We have big plans for the brand in 2016, in print, online and with our flagship Night Run, and Phua is just the right man to lead Men's Health Malaysia at this exciting time for the brand."Phua will take over the role on 1 November from current Men's Health Editor John Ng, who is moving on from the company. He will be one of a handful of new faces at Mongoose after the company announced Simon Burgess would be the new editor-in-chief of Esquire Malaysia from November and the appointment of renowned media strategist Patrick Brennan as group business development director.
