Managing director of Mongoose Publishing exits

Managing director of Mongoose Publishing, Russell Channon has left the company. Graham Paling, group CEO, Mongoose Publishing has confirmed the move to Marketing.In a statement to Marketing, he said: "I can confirm that we have reached an agreement with Russell Channon that the time is right for him to move on from Mongoose. Channon has been with us for over twelve years across our Malaysia and Singapore operations and has always been a valued part of the company. We are hugely appreciative for his work for Mongoose and wish him every success for the future."Paling added that the rest of the business currently remains unaffected and the publishing house has "exciting plans to grow both Time Out Singapore and Esquire Singapore in 2016."Channon has over 13 years of experience in the print and digital publishing world. He was responsible for launching global platforms such as Esquire (Malaysia & Singapore), Time Out (KL, Singapore and Penang) and several other magazines.Channon told Marketing that he is currently looking to pursue opportunities in the publishing arena and has "thoroughly enjoyed" his time working with Mongoose.Meanwhile, in the first week of September, Time Out Singapore created a ‘Week Of Free’, showcasing the best no-cost activities and promotions in the city, led by putting an extra 100,000 copies in the hands of residents of Singapore. This move was to ensure Time Out Singapore tripled its current circulation delivering the magazine to more readers and greater value to advertisers. The magazine hit the streets with an amped-up distribution of triple its regular size.
