Mindshare names new CEO for Japan and Korea

Mindshare has promoted Karl Cluck (pictured) to the role of CEO for Japan and Korea, reporting to Ashutosh Srivastava, Chairman Asia and CEO of Emerging Markets group at Mindshare.He takes over the role after a brief vacancy when James Greet left Mindshare earlier this year.In the new role, Cluck will work with Linda Lee, managing director of Mindshare Japan, and Jeeyoung Kwak, general manager of Mindshare Korea, to help develop Mindshare’s offering and focus on their global portfolio of clients in these two markets.He will be focusing on rolling out Mindshare’s new Adaptive Marketing approach for Japan and Korea by helping strengthen its performance marketing, social and analytics capabilities.Cluck will retain his current responsibility as head of strategy for Mindshare’s North Asia offices.Srivastava said: “Karl has played an invaluable part in the continued evolution of Mindshare since he joined us in 2008 helping us build our products and services across the region. We look forward to his continued success in the new role, working with Linda and Jeeyoung to make Mindshare the leading international media agency in their markets.”Since 2007, Cluck has been responsible for building Mindshare’s products and services, and later as Head of Strategy for North Asia offices. He was instrumental in the rollout of Mindshare’s adaptive planning process, the Original Thinking Framework, across North Asia.Commenting on his new role, Karl said: “For the past several years, I’ve really been privileged to work with some of the smartest, most passionate, most innovative thinkers in the APAC region – and I’m really looking forward to help continue to drive Mindshare’s vision on adaptive marketing forward. It will be a pleasure to build an even closer relationship with Linda and Jeeyoung– two of the smartest managers working in media in the region.”Mindshare’s portfolio in Japan includes clients such as LVMH, Dyson, Jaguar Land Rover and IBM. The first three accounts were won under the leadership of Linda Lee, who joined Mindshare in 2010.In Korea, Mindshare recently won L’Oréal under GM Jeeyoung Kwak’s leadership and is looking to build momentum and further consolidate its global client portfolio in Korea.
