Mindshare acquires MASSCOM to become Unilever Philippines AOR

Mindshare is now the media agency of record of Unilever Philippines, following its acquisition of Media Arts System and Services Company, Inc. (MASSCOM).

The deal, effective on January 2014, brings the massive account back to WPP, which manages the Unilever account in 40 countries around the world via Mindshare, 10 of which are in Asia Pacific.

MASSCOM is a single-client media agency exclusively handling the media business of Unilever for the last 27 years. It is one of the country’s top advertisers with brands like Surf, Dove, Knorr, Sunsilk, Creamsilk, Rexona, Selecta Ice Cream and many others.

“With this acquisition, we are creating an unbeatable powerhouse with a combination of the relationships and experience of MASSCOM and the tools, systems and global network of Mindshare. The two agencies will come together under Mindshare to share a common vision to deliver thought leadership and service excellence,” Sunitha Gopalakrishnan, managing director at Mindshare Philippines.
