Beijing – TripAdvisor has appointed Leslie Chu (pictured) as head of display advertising sales for Greater China.
Based in Beijing, Chu is responsible for driving the growth of the site’s display advertising business across the region.
“With more than 10 million unique visitors in Greater China coming to TripAdvisor sites every month, this region is one of our most important and fast growing,” said Cindy Tan, vice president of display advertising sales, Asia Pacific of TripAdvisor.
“Through Leslie’s leadership and local market expertise, we aim to develop increasingly innovative and effective campaign solutions for clients and media agencies here and across the globe keen on targeting the Chinese audience.”
In the third quarter of 2012, the global display advertising business contributed 11% to the site’s total revenue, according to TripAdvisor.
Chu joins from Microsoft where he was country director of advertising and online business in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
