Mentos' latest NDP gag - hit or miss?

Mentos is back with another national day video. This National Day, Mentos is launching a National Day Proposal (NDP)... a proposal which goes all the way from Singapore to the country of Finland. If you are going "Why Finland?" - I feel you. Throughout the video I wondered the same.So here's the explanation given on the site: Because she (Finland) is rich, well-educated, has "air-conditioning" 24/7 and most importantly, has lots of land.Created by BBH Asia Pacific, the campaign is all part of a cheeky proposal to get Singapore more land because of the increasing space constraints. Maurice Wee, creative director, BBH Asia Pacific said:"The National Day Proposal is an epic plan to get Singapore more land by asking Finland to marry us. Why Finland? We have so much in common. We're both rich and both well educated; and we'd like some of that land. I think Fingapore rolls off the tongue quite nicely."(I must say if these are the ideal qualities we are looking for in our future partners, we need to rethink our strategy and values. Also, romance must be dead.)Created by BBH Asia Pacific, the campaign is all part of a cheeky proposal to get Singapore more land because of the increasing space constraints. This is then further explained by the following statistics: As of May 2013, Singapore's population was at 5,460,302 and its landmass 687 km² while Finland's population was at 5,432,305 million with a landmass of 338,424 km². We rest our case.Nonetheless, the song itself was catchy and I'm sure where Mentos called for Singaporeans to address the country's declining birthrate by 'doing their duty' on National Night last, this too will have some interesting responses.http://youtu.be/xvKLcQKoETU
