MediaCom has appointed Simon Broderick as chief investment officer of Asia Pacific, taking over from Matthew Wigham who will be transitioning to a new role within GroupM.Broderick began his journey with The Content + Connections Agency nine years ago. During his time with MediaCom in the United Kingdom, Broderick carved out a stellar reputation for himself amongst peers and clients, and became the youngest head of broadcast trading in the industry.Joining from his most recent role with Kinetic Worldwide as APAC Investment Director, Broderick will work with MediaCom’s regional and local market teams across Asia Pacific to build and nurture the agency’s already strong trading and investment product.Mark Heap, CEO MediaCom APAC said : “This is one of the most important roles in the company and we were lucky to have a high level of interest in the role, from some exceptional candidates. Simon’s deep understanding of the trading practice, his experience across Asia Pacific markets, his familiarity with GroupM operations and most importantly, his fit with the MediaCom culture, made him the standout choice.Broderick said, “I'm delighted to be rejoining MediaCom; a company whose philosophy and culture I firmly believe in. It's a very exciting time for The Content + Connections agency in the APAC region and I look forward to working closely with Mark and the wider team to continue their excellent work over the last couple of years.”Nick Binns, GroupM APAC CIO also added, ”This was a rigorous interview process, where we were approached by a very high caliber of multinational trading talent. Ultimately Simon’s determination for the role, Asia trading experience and previous MediaCom trading experience impressed us the most and inevitably made him the right person for the role.”Broderick’s tenure is effective with MediaCom from February 15 and will see him report directly to Mark Heap and Nick Binns.
