MediaCom China names Edie Xie as head of talent

MediaCom China has appointed Edie Xie, former Mondelēz International HR manager, as head of talent with immediate effect.With over 10 years of industry experience, Xie joins The Content + Connections Agency to align business and people strategies to enable an increase in the potential and performance of talent within a key market of MediaCom’s globally. As part of her new remit, Xie will be responsible for developing and driving innovative initiatives and solutions through the areas of talent attraction, development and engagement.In line with the “People First” cultural ethos of MediaCom, Xie will also be improving learning and development programmes with a focus on leadership to further enhance the career progression of MediaCom’s talent. Based in Shanghai, she will also work with the local management team to identify emerging talent and to develop attraction and retention plans in China. She reports to Rupert McPetrie, CEO MediaCom China and work closely with Anna Zhang, Chief Talent Officer, GroupM.McPetrie said: “She has a unique energy and experience that will bolster our leadership team and people initiatives within our market. Edie’s hire is a key appointment and one that shows how focussed we are on talent development, engagement and recruitment.”Xie added: “Being part of the MediaCom family is such an amazing opportunity.
